[Painting] Twisted Fate by dragonoids [Painting] Twisted Fate by dragonoids
The first piece to this collection is The Twisted Fate itself. Since this is the first piece, the concept of the painting was to represent what the entire collection will be about - the peaceful fusion of the Aboriginal and Maori artistic styles.

The painting consists of two different paths, twisting and interlocking with each other. The 'twist' in Maori culture signifies two different people or culture joining one another. The 'twist' also represents the strength of bond of friendship, loyalty and love that will last forever.

The Aboriginal path is represented in the red path, with the traditional dot painting and bush medicine painting techniques. While the Maori path, represented by the green path, contains the traditional Maori painting styles in New Zealand colours. The Aboriginal path contains the print of the lotus flowers, while the Maori path contains the lotus leaves. Together, both paths complete the entire plant of the lotus. The entire 'twist' is set on a peaceful blue background, representing the river. The entire painting, hence, show the perfect harmony of the Aboriginal and Maori artistic styles.

This is awesome! You are really good a brush strokes. Seems like you have a really steady hand.

Thanks! The thing is, I paint with the canvas on the table, so I can rest my arm on it. So I wouldn't say I have a steady hand for sure :)

Wow Nice work!! Love the use of complimentary colors! And the broad black lines really makes them pop.
